Team McAllester had the opportunity to volunteer at The Blount Mansion this week. The Blount Mansion is one of our downtown neighbors, only 3 blocks away. It is referred to as the birthplace of Tennessee because in 1796. William Blount, Governor of the Southwestern Territory, and signer of the U.S. Constitution among others signed the 16th state constitution ever drafted in America making Tennessee a state. We helped move some time period furniture and moved one of their archival systems into a different building on site.
