Our team spent an afternoon at Blount Mansion - a national historical landmark just down the road from 21st Mortgage that was once the home of William Blount - the man who George Washington appointed as governor over the territory south of the Ohio River. Blount established Knoxville as his capital city, which is why he built his home here. We cleaned the entire estate - dusted, swept, and wiped windows. Dave the director was very grateful for the help as he explained they are holding a Christmas party there in the next few weeks. We enjoyed our time there helping to preserve some significant history. If interested, you can visit March-Dec, Tues-Fri 9:30am-5pm, or Sat 10am-2pm.
