We would like to say thank you for letting our team participate in a service project at the Wesley House this past week. Wesley House empowers and strengthens the community by providing academic, emotional, and spiritual support. The program was founded in 1907 and has 4 different programs. CARES (Children’s After-school Recreational & Educational Support) provides a structured after-school education program. PACE (Performing Arts and Cultural Education) is a part of the CARES curriculum that offers a variety of activities focused on arts and culture. STEP (Summer Time Enrichment Program) is a summer day camp for inner-city children and youth. WISE (Wellness in Senior Education) serves the inner-city senior citizens. All of these programs help foster a better community here in inner-city Knoxville. The 2015 Fall program had over 94 children enrolled and the programs continue to grow each year. We were able to assist in cleaning their school buses and vans, as they have drivers that go and pick up the children daily. We were also able to help clean up weeds around their flower bed areas, too. There are several ways to continue volunteering and giving back to Wesley House, such as sponsoring a child or senior citizen. If you would like to learn more about the opportunities at Wesley House, please contact Sharon at email@example.com or visit their web page at http://www.wesleyhouse.com/. Our team hopes to sponsor and full-fill Christmas wish lists for some of the senior citizens this coming year!
